Sammeg Satellite (Pty Ltd, better known as Samsat, was founded in 1995, and is an integral member of the Advertising Displays Group. Advertising Display (Pty) Ltd was established by Group Chairman, Richard Weinberg, in 1979 and rapidly built an enviable reputation as an innovator in the field of outdoor advertising. By the mid- eighties the group had expanded through internal growth and mergers to the extent that it controlled 75% of the South African outdoor billboard advertising market.
In 1995 the group sold its advertising interests and developed into a financial company with the prime purpose of investing in new ventures. Samsat is financed by the group which holds 65% of its shares, the remaining 35% being held by its directors, Joel Dorfan and Sean Meadows.
In addition to drawing on the considerable financial stability and proven business expertise of the Advertising Displays Group, Samsat has inherited a proud tradition of product and service excellence.
